The United Nations, with support from the UK Space Agency, has released the final report of a mapping exercise designed to enhance understanding of key intergovernmental coordination bodies that use space technology to support global climate action. This exercise includes entities within the United Nations system as well as non-UN organizations, groups, and partnerships.
Key conclusions from the exercise highlight a well-coordinated and evolving network of climate observation, research, science, and policy developed by a growing number of stakeholders. However, the findings also point out that inconsistencies in how climate action and related services are defined are making coordination efforts more difficult.
